Seeing the Truth: The Sudden Passing of 17-Year-Old Badminton Prodigy Zhang Zhijie

As I, a journalist from Seeing, scrolled through the personal social media account of Mr. Zhang's mother, Mrs. Jiang, I was shocked to see that this year on January 30th, Zhijie had passed away at the tender age of 17. We only found out about his passing last night around 3-4 am, and it was a blow that hit us hard. None of us got any sleep, and Mr. Zhang's aunt had already arrived in Jiaxing by then.

Mr. Wang, the father of Zhijie's family who lives in Fuyang, Anhui Province, told Seeing that Zhijie's family also hails from rural Anhui. His mother later worked in a market in Jiaxing, and Zhijie was born there. From a young age, he was obedient and self-disciplined, with a passion for badminton that drove him to train rigorously.

The two children were the pride of their family; his niece had just graduated from university, while his nephew had recently received acceptance letters for several universities. Mr. Wang shared these details with us.

He was only 17 years old when he passed away. You can imagine how difficult it must have been for those who knew him to accept his passing.
