With all that said without a word between them, Sarah slithered across the couch and cuddled up against him, happy at least she still had her dad. He was already working a tonne with his engineering job, but with mom gone, he now had to step up, organising meals, shopping, cleaning, and all the other little chores that he and mom were previously splitting.

Their smiles slowly faded away. It was clear her dad was talking about mom, who a year ago had decided to drop all social ties and go travelling around the world, leaving all this info in a letter that they only found and read a few days after she left.
