3. Bad beat: When a player loses even though they had seemingly strong cards/a strong hand.
4. Fold: During each player’s turn, they have three options: to raise, call or fold. To fold means to throw away your hand and forfeit the current match.
5. Four of a kind: 4 cards of the same number/value
6. Full house: a hand consisted of a three of a kind (3 matching cards) and a pair
7. Flush: a hand of any 5 cards of the same suit
8. Straight: a hand of 5 consecutive cards of any suit
9. Three of a kind: 3 cards of the same number/value
10. Aces up: When a hand contains two pairs: one of them being a pair of Aces.

Rounds of Poker

1. Pre-flop: When the two players to the left of the dealer place a blind bet before they get their cards (i.e. the first round of betting). After that, the cards are dealt to each player (2-4 cards depending which game of poker they’re playing).
2. Flop: When the first 3 (community) cards are dealt face-up on the table. Second round of betting.
3. Turn: When the 4th (community) card is dealt and added to the table. Third round of betting.
4. River: When the 5th (last) (community) card is dealt and added. Fourth and final round of betting.
