Prelude**
Dota 2, one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games in the world, has a long history of hosting major tournaments that bring together top teams from around the globe. One such tournament is the Chongqing Major, held annually since 2018 and sponsored by StarLadder and ImbaTV.
The Journey Begins
In November 2018, NAVI.GG.BET received an invitation to participate in the closed regional qualifiers for The Chongqing Major. This marked the beginning of a long journey for the teams vying for a spot in the coveted tournament. The CIS region was represented by four teams: NAVI.GG.BET, Virtus.pro, Team Spirit, and Gambit Esports.
The Road to the Playoffs
After the open qualifiers concluded, four more teams joined the fray, bringing the total number of participants to eight. The teams were divided into two groups, with only half making it to the playoffs. The competition was fierce, with every team fighting for a spot in the main tournament.
The Chongqing Major: A Tournament of Great Significance
Held from January 19th to 27th, 2019, The Chongqing Major was more than just another Dota 2 tournament. It offered a share of $1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points needed to qualify for The International 2019. This made it a coveted prize for teams looking to make their mark on the global stage.
The Teams
As the main tournament approached, several teams made significant changes to their rosters. TNC and the Chongqing Major were just two examples of teams that underwent roster changes in the lead-up to the event.
The Journey Continues
With the closed qualifiers completed, the journey to The Chongqing Major's main stage was well underway. The teams that made it through the qualifying rounds would go on to face off against each other in a best-of-three matches format.
The Chongqing Major 2019 was an eventful and exciting tournament that brought together some of the world's top Dota 2 teams. As the competition unfolded, teams underwent roster changes, new players emerged, and strategies evolved. In the end, it was a testament to the power of esports in bringing people together and creating unforgettable moments.
