In recent years, the development of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has become increasingly important in various fields such as logistics, industry, finance, and government. One of the key components in RFID systems is the antenna, which plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate reading of tags.
This paper presents an optimal design technology for Z-shaped slot antennas, which are designed to achieve omnidirectional pattern characteristics. The proposed antenna consists of two parallel strips with a width of λ/2 and a gap distance of λ/4. The strips are connected to the ground plane at two points, creating a Z-shaped structure.
The design parameters of the antenna include the line and diagonal angles, slot home spacing, edge distance between the antenna and the ground plane, diagonal length, and line length. These parameters were optimized using a simulation software to achieve an omnidirectional pattern characteristic with a gain of 7.03-7.5 dB, a reflection coefficient of 1.001-1.028, and a distance of 3.5 m ± 0.5 m.
The proposed antenna was tested in various scenarios and showed excellent performance in terms of read range, sensitivity, and reliability. The antenna is suitable for use in UHF RFID readers and can be applied to various industries such as logistics, industry, finance, and government.
