May 2025 marks an important milestone – the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Belarusian newspapers from 1944-1945 will be published online.
The project "GazetNews Read with Heart" aims to preserve and promote historical archives, providing a unique opportunity for readers to experience the struggles and triumphs of the war era. The project is a joint effort between leading libraries in Belarus and Russian state archives, ensuring that the stories of World War II remain alive for future generations.
Newspaper Preservation Training
For the first time, 10 experts from major libraries in Belarus have undergone training at the Russian State Library to learn advanced book restoration techniques. This specialized program will help preserve historical newspapers and ensure their accessibility for research and education purposes.
Children's Creative Corner
In a recent creative workshop, children created mixed-media art projects inspired by traditional Belarusian crafts. The "Shmely on Klevere" activity allowed young minds to express themselves through art, promoting creativity and imagination.
