The Black Pearl Restaurant and Card Room: A Review of a Once-Favorite Destination

It's not a fun scene anymore. The dealers are kind of blah, they raised the pai gow minimum to $10, and there is nothing there to make it feel like a fun place. It is just so blah. They need to reevaluate if they are only pulling six players on a Friday. Oh, and they took away Free Bet, which is the best game out there.

I went there to have some fun (obviously) but it just isn't a fun atmosphere anymore.

A Contrarian View: Why This Place Gets Bad Reviews

Not sure why this place gets bad reviews. Maybe people lose money on the card tables and use Yelp to air their frustrations. The food here is really good and reasonably priced. It never disappoints. The card tables are another story…

Fun & friendly staff, great food & drinks, daily poker tournaments & cash games along with regular casino games! I've been coming here for years & it's my favorite place to play!

A Decent Dining Experience

Took my family out to eat at the Black Pearl. Masks were required. Parking was a lil tight. When we went inside it was clean. We chose a table closer to the gambling area cause we could see people playing cards so that was interesting. We ordered from the nice waitress and food came out quick. I had the steak and potatoes and an extra side salad. The steak was a lil bloody for my liking it tasted good tho. I have to get more into grade of beef and that but it seemed more dense of a meat and next time I will choose a different cut. My wife had the steak stroganoff, I tried a bite it was good but not over the top delicious.. kiddo ate a French dip and she actually got sick later that night so not sure if it was the food… well anyway.. it was a decent experience and worth three stars… but try it out for yourself you make like it ..

A Surprisingly Good Bar Fare

This is not a place most would consider as a destination for a meal, given its poker-table focus, but they did a real nice job with hearty bar fare. Heck, they did better than that. Understand this is a place for regular folks to grab a decent plate of unhealthy, un-mindful sustenance while putting their wages in the harms way of sharks. Regardless, the staff was great, and we chatted with a VERY diverse group of patrons that were enjoying their time there. TVs were filled with all the days' sports, but none of them were loudly obtrusive to our dining experience. We do like to try places we've never been to–preferably serving a basic/familiar bar menu–and this place was a spot on choice for that…

A Mixed Experience

My wife and I went to play in the casino and had an awesome fun time, then went to the bar and had dinner. The service and food there was excellent!

Played poker here. After being promised a spot my name was bumped off the list. Then watched as a regular was given priority over me and was allowed to regularly leave the table, pay no blinds, and essentially only play the button. Floor did not care about this despite me waiting for over an hour for a seat I was promised. Would not recommend and would highly advise taking your money somewhere else.

A Restaurant Week Experience

Stopped by here for restaurant week and experienced great service and good food. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Beer selection is about average, but their specialty drinks were very good. We each ordered something different from the restaurant week menu so we could sample different items. It was all good, but I wouldn't say exceptional.

With the challenges restaurants are currently facing, we were surprised to find such excellent service.

A Disappointing Experience with Tim

Tim the "manager" kicked me out after I was winning in poker after waiting an hour and 45 minutes. Didnt complain but the moment I said a curse word he descended i should leave. I was losing, then the moment I started to win TIM decided it was time for me to leave. SCAM OF A POKER ROOM DONT PLAY IF TIM IS AROUND . Security was amazing and had no problem with the staff. Management is terrible
