Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Event in Northern California: Jordan Griff’s Journey to the Final Table

Jordan Griff, a player from Illinois, has made it to the final table of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event with a remarkable journey. He finished ninth in a previous WSOP event in Northern California, earning $18,104 and setting his sights on winning the $10 million first-place prize.

Griff's path to the final table was not without its challenges. He started strong on Day 1d, bagging 98,600 chips after starting with 60,000. Throughout the tournament, he survived and advanced while increasing his stack. By Day 4, he had cracked the 1 million chip mark, although his stack remained average. On Day 5, he increased his stack by 300% to 3,035,000 chips, but again was sitting on an average stack.

Day 7 was where Griff struggled the most, with his stack dropping from 8,725,000 chips at the end of Day 6 to 8,300,000 chips. However, he bounced back on Day 8, going on a hot streak that saw him increase his stack by over 1,400% from 18/18 to 1/9. The turning point came with the very first hand of the day, where Griff's queens won against an opponent who had a miraculous river.

"I was in shock," Griff said about the winning hand. "I wasn't even watching it. Then I heard the noise that something happened. I look back, I see the Queen!"

With 143,700,000 chips entering Tuesday's final table, Griff has a significant lead over the rest of the field. Brian Kim is in second place with 94,600,000 chips, nearly 50 million chips behind.
