Are you ready for an exciting adventure in the breathtaking Badlands National Park? Look no further than the Rice Honda Poker Run, a thrilling event that takes place on June 2nd, 2024.
Event Details
The event starts at 9:00 AM and runs until 3:30 PM. Riders will navigate through the scenic trails of the Badlands, with multiple checkpoints along the way to collect poker cards. The final checkpoint is back at registration, where participants will draw a playing card for each checkpoint visited to determine their poker hand.
Route and Safety
The short course is approximately 15-25 miles long, while the long course covers around 50-55 miles. Both courses share the same route as the first half of the long course. Riders must wear proper safety gear, including a helmet, eye protection, and suitable footwear. Spark arrestors are also mandatory for all bikes.
Prizes and Awards
The event will feature prizes for both the short and long courses. The highest poker hands in each category will win the top prizes. There are also additional hands available for purchase during pre-registration, which can be used to draw an extra hand at the final checkpoint.
Location and Parking
The Rice Honda Poker Run takes place at Flat Rocks campground and Rampart Range Road, approximately 4½ miles south on Rampart Range Road off of Route #67 west of Sedalia, CO. Riders are required to park their vehicles in designated trailhead parking areas along Rampart Range Road.
Camping and Accommodations
For those who want to make a weekend out of the event, there are several developed dispersed campsites along Rampart Range Road as well as the Dutch Fred and Devil's Head campgrounds. Riders can also choose to stay at local hotels or lodges in the area.
