News about NM i Poker 2024
The Norwegian Championships are back on Norwegian soil for fall, and we're thrilled to see all the Norwegian poker players again! The championships will take place from October 2nd to 9th, that is, from Sunday to and including Sunday. [1]
We're proud of the fantastic turnout last year and look forward to welcoming you again to Thon Congress Gardermoen. The work on the championship has already started, and we're constantly improving ourselves. Our goal is for NM 2022 to be the best championship ever held in Norway, says organizer Thomas Udness.
Three New Turners
Three new tournaments are included in the program: No Limit Hold'em U25, No Limit Hold'em Heads Up, and No Limit Hold'em Kings & Queens.
The "Junior-NM" or NM U25 is the first one out. It will be played on Sunday, October 2nd! Everyone between the ages of 18 and 25 can participate. If you were born in 1997 or later but are over 18 years old, you can participate in the fight for the U25 title! You can also have turned 25 as long as you were born in 1997.
The Heads Up tournament will be played with a Monrad system similar to chess tournaments. This means that we can follow the players with the most wins and that players are not eliminated until they have two losses. After six initial rounds, the best players will meet in semifinals and finals. A maximum of 32 players will participate in this tournament. Some seats will be reserved for the qualifying round on Tuesday, October 4th.
Kings & Queens is a new addition where female and male players start their turn in separate tables before eventually combining. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Lily's Country Club on Friday-Saturday, and we are also setting up a combined spa and dinner package from 3:00 PM to the start of the tournament.
Other Changes to the Program
The popular Level of Each tournament will once again be played on Friday of the championships, but this year, bounties have been removed from the tournament. The Shootout tournament is not part of this year's program to make room for a larger Endagsturbo on the closing Sunday.
Finally, improvements have been made to the popular Turbo tournament. Instead of re-entries on each start day, it will be played as a "Best Stack" tournament this year. This means you can participate in all start days even if you've reached Day 2 earlier. If you come to Day 2 multiple times, you'll play Day 2 with your best chip stack.
