In 2008-09, Lippo Karawaci hosted the fifth round of the A1 Grand Prix season, which featured a temporary street circuit track designed by Hermann Tilke. Although the race did not materialize, parts of the track have since been converted into University of Pelita Harapan's parking lot and faculty building.
