Baking Competition with a Twist

In this Mexican adaptation of the popular baking competition show, Sugar Rush, six teams of bakers compete to create delicious desserts that combine traditional and contemporary approaches. Hosted by Carlos "Capi" Perez, the series features two challenges in each episode, testing the teams' skills in creating cupcakes and cakes.

What's the Story?

In each episode, the teams receive a theme and must create a cupcake and a dessert variation within six hours. The judges, comprising master pastry chef Luis Robledo Richards, YouTube baking celebrity Gris Verduzco, and a guest judge, taste the baked goods and award the winning team an early start time for the second round.

In the second round, the teams must design, bake, and decorate a showstopping cake that reflects the same theme. The two least impressive teams in the opening round lose preparation time, while the team that wins the second round earns extra time in the grand finale. The team that does the worst job must leave the competition.

The last team standing wins the Sugar Rush trophy and one million Mexican pesos (approximately $59,000).
