Bill Zimmerman, founder of LifePro, had always been passionate about life insurance. He would approach people in his surrounding area and share his enthusiasm with them. When someone showed interest, he would invite them to his "office" – a garage converted into a workspace with a desk. It was there that every individual and family who spoke with Bill saw the genuine passion he had for life insurance.
Bill didn't just see it as a sale; he knew that by writing policies, he was changing lives at one of the most crucial moments in people's lives. He took care of all the paperwork, designing cases, managing them through insurance carriers, and offering annual reviews. He worked with an Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) that had made bold claims and set high expectations, yet failed to deliver every time.
Bill bounced around from IMOs to GMOs to GAs, noticing a recurring trend: each company would promise the world, with high commissions and quality support, but none could meet or exceed their lofty promises. He realized that if he could release the burden of contracting, case design, case management, and marketing, he would be more efficient and able to focus on what he did best – serving his clients.
Bill knew that having a company that managed those tasks while he was out in the field would allow him to double, triple, or even quadruple his production. Unfortunately, he couldn't find such a company at the time. This led him to establish LifePro in 1986.
Bill built an IMO that prioritized integrity and delivered on its promises – and more. A company that didn't focus on commissions but rather what was genuinely best for the end-consumer. "If there was a company that could be easy to do business with and hold advisors and insurance companies as strategic partners, I knew the insurance industry would change for the better," Bill said.
On August 29, 2021, Bill passed away after a brave battle with ALS. Despite the ups and downs of treatment procedures, Bill maintained his positive attitude throughout his life.
