In this context, it is easy to infer that the recipient is a Chinese user.
For those who are unfamiliar with QQ, it is a popular instant messaging service in China, similar to WeChat. However, unlike WeChat, which is widely used globally, QQ has a stronger presence in mainland China and Taiwan. The QQ logo features a pair of eyes, giving it a crying or tearful appearance, which is reminiscent of the Korean emoticon (ㅠㅠ). In Taiwan, QQ is often used to express surprise or shock, similar to the phrase "QQ tea" (), which literally means "QQ milk tea." This unique expression has become a part of Taiwanese culture.
While this may be unfamiliar territory for foreigners who are only familiar with Western cultures, it's worth noting that Coco, a bubble tea brand that has expanded into China, often uses QQ in its marketing campaigns. Therefore, it is not entirely unknown outside of China.
